Review of the Cruise Ship - Norwegian Dawn
NORWEGIAN DAWN BUILT: 2002 REFURBISHED: 2005 WEIGHT: 92,250 tons REGISTERED: Bahamas LENGTH: 965 ft. BEAM: 105 ft. CAPACITY: 2,224 passengers DECKS: 14 We cruised on Norwegian Dawn on November 2007. This is my personal experience of our cruise on this beautiful ship. We arrived in Miami, Florida via a charter bus around 12:30pm. Embarkation was a little hectic, but only because of the large crowd that was waiting to get onboard. Reminded me of a busy day at a theme park while waiting in line to get on the best attraction ride at the park. Norwegian Dawn is a truly beautiful ship, inside and out. Her hull is decorated with the Statue of Liberty on one side, and a Dolphin on the other. Our oceanview stateroom (Deck 4 - stateroom 4576), had a porthole window. It was nice to be able to have natural light in the room during the day when the curtains were open. Our room was located only 2 doors down from the gangway. One day, the line to get off the ship...
I Changed My Mind - I Don't Want to Go on a Cruise to Roatan Honduras
Originally posted on January 15th, 2014. I've been saying for the last year that I want to go on a cruise to Roatan, Honduras. However, after reading the news about a family of 5 being robbed at gunpoint a few weeks ago, I've now changed my mind. I still want to go on a cruise, but just not to Honduras. Apparently there is a security alert at that particular destination at this time, and it's not safe to be going there, if your plan is to do something that doesn't include being on a shore excursion. This family had rented a car to do their own tour, when gun shots were fired at their rental car. The masked gunman, stole their credit cards, cash, cell phones, and camera. I use to like stopping at different places while cruising, but I'm starting to think that days at sea are much safer. :O
